It was a Muslim woman who helped lead police to the whereabouts of Paris attacks planner Abdelhamid Abaaoud, The Washington Post reported Monday. The 28-year-old Abaaoud had enlisted the help of his 26-year-old cousin, Hasna Aitboulahcen, and another woman in the aftermath of the attacks. Aitboulahcen helped him elude officials for days, but the other woman—who remains unnamed—secretly called police and provided information that led to him. "It’s important the world knows that I am Muslim myself,” the woman told a reporter. "It’s important to me that people know what Abaaoud and the others did is not what Islam is teaching." The terrorist suspect was eventually killed in an armed operation by authorities; and it became clear afterward that he was plotting even more attacks.
