President Obama will designate a monument for women’s equality on Tuesday for Equal Pay Day. The Belmont-Paul Women’s Equality National Monument will stand in front of the Sewall-Belmont House, which has served as the headquarters for the National Woman’s Party since 1929. The monument is named for former party president Alva Belmont, who played a key role in the ratification of the 19th Amendment.
