A male rhinoceros in an Indian national park visited Wednesday by the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge was killed and de-horned just hours later by poachers. The male rhino was found dead in India’s Kaziranga National Park, which is home to 2,400 one-horned rhinos. He was the sixth killed in the park this year. Forest guards reportedly exchanged gunfire with the poachers, who had shot the animal. Officials said they found more than 100 empty cartridges from AK-47s.
