South Korea President Park Geun Hye on Monday said the country has detected signs that North Korea is readying a fifth nuclear test. Park did not provide any details on what the signs were, but said she ordered the military to prepare for any provocation from the North, state news agency Yonhap reported. The president’s statement comes after local media reported increased activity at North Korea’s Punggye-ri nuclear test site, where the previous nuclear tests took place. Pyongyang conducted its fourth nuclear test in January and a rocket launch in February, prompting the UN to impose tougher sanctions last month.
