The Large Hadron Collider, the world's most powerful scientific instrument, went offline Friday morning after a weasel fell into the machinery. The weasel, which did not survive the incident, caused a "severe electrical perturbation," temporarily shutting off the collider. Officials said the damages would take several days to repair.
