Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio, the controversial lawman accused of racial profiling and anti-immigrant practices, was found in civil contempt of federal court Friday by U.S. District Judge Murray Snow. Arpaio, a Donald Trump supporter famous for forcing inmates to live in a “tent city” jail, was in court for allegedly failing to provide required evidence from a racial-profiling trial, illegally enforcing immigration policies, and not collecting evidence despite an order from a federal court. Arpaio might face undetermined sanctions for his contempt of court.
