Mullah Akhtar Mansour, the man who replaced Mullah Mohammad Omar as leader of the Afghan Taliban, has been killed in a U.S. air strike, the Pentagon announced on Saturday and Afghanistan later confirmed. The strike took place on the Afghanistan-Pakistani border. Mansour became the leader after the death of Omar last year.
