A forensics expert in Egypt working on the EgyptAir Flight 804 investigation told the Associated Press that human remains recovered from the Mediterranean Sea were burned and scattered. "The logical explanation is that an explosion brought it down," the official, who reportedly examined the remains at a Cairo morgue, said. A spokesman for the Egyptian government called any reports indicating an explosion speculation. "Whatever has been published is baseless and mere assumptions," he said. The forensics expert said 80 body parts have been recovered, among debris including personal effects and parts of the Airbus 320 that crashed last Thursday with 66 people aboard.
