A woman who claims to be Kim Jong Un’s 60-year-old aunt lives in the U.S. and runs a dry-cleaning business with her husband. Though the leader of North Korea has threatened to level New York with a hydrogen bomb, three of his cousins—ages 31, 29, and 23—live in the U.S. and lead (anonymous) normal professional lives. Ko Yong Suk defected to the U.S. 18 years ago after leaving North Korea. Her family has lived a relatively average life in the U.S.—with the exception of her communication with the CIA. Ko said: “My kids went to great schools and they’re successful, and I have my husband, who can fix anything. There’s nothing we can envy.” The Washington Post interviewed the family for several hours at their home and in New York City and did not reveal the current names or photos of their subjects in order to protect their grown children.
