The Pittsburgh Penguins drew first blood Monday night, beating the San Jose Sharks in Game 1 of the National Hockey League’s Stanley Cup final. Game 2 will be Wednesday night at Consol Energy Center. The Penguins dominated play in the game's first period, largely through exploiting their speed advantage over the Sharks. “I thought that first period was as good as we’ve looked, as a team,” Penguins goalie Matt Murray said. “Keeping home ice in the series is going to be huge,” center Conor Sheary said. “So to come out with a win was very important.”
