Colin Nathaniel Scott, a 23-year-old man from Portland, Oregon, died after falling into a hot spring at Yellowstone National Park on Wednesday. The effort to recover him was called off as his remains couldn’t be recovered. “We extend our sympathy to the Scott family,” Park Superintendent Dan Wenk said in a statement. “This tragic event must remind all of us to follow the regulations and stay on boardwalks when visiting Yellowstone’s geyser basins.” There have been 22 deaths in the park since 1890.
