TOP 10 RIGHT NOW
The United States has sanctioned North Korean leader Kim Jong Un for the first time, citing human-rights abuses he has committed in his country. An additional 10 North Korean officials have been blacklisted—a move that prevents any U.S. citizen from doing business with them and freezes their American properties. North Korea was already under sanctions for the country’s nuclear activities. The sanctions were announced in conjunction with a State Department report estimating that between 80,000 and 120,000 prisoners were being held in work camps in the country.
