An American was gored and five other runners were injured in the annual running of the bulls at Pamplona's San Fermín festival Wednesday. The 39-year-old American—identified only by the initials MLO—was gored in the thigh when one of six bulls collided with a group near a fence and thrust some of them into the air with its horns. MLO’s condition was listed as “not serious.” The other injured runners were American and Spanish, and they were being treated for contusions. At least 1,000 people participated in Wednesday’s run, which lasted fewer than three minutes. In total, 12 people have been gored since July 7 at runs across Spain this year. Four of them were Americans.
