A former frequent Fox News guest was sentenced to three years in prison Friday on fraud charges, after he repeatedly lied about his supposed CIA credentials. Wayne Simmons, 62, often appeared on Fox as a “former CIA operative,” despite no evidence suggesting he ever served in the intelligence agency. Moreover, he used those false credentials to get out of an assault charge, obtain contracting work, and reduce a delinquent tax bill. Upon sentencing Simmons, U.S. Senior Judge T.S. Ellis III called his tall tales “buffalo chips,” noting that the ex-talking head once called Nancy Pelosi a “patholigical liar” while appearing on Fox News. “That should give us all pause as we listen to the news," the judge remarked.
