A 21-year-old woman plunged to her death from a 100-foot cliff in Southern California after trying to take a picture on Friday. The woman, whose identity has not yet been released, was on her first day out after relocating from Reno, Nevada. Friends say she was trying to get a good shot of the Pacific Ocean from a cliff in Point Fermin Park when she tripped and fell, plummeting to the rocks below. Firefighters were sent to the scene at about 2 p.m. on Friday, and by Friday night, investigators said they believed the woman had climbed over a protective wall before accidentally falling. Authorities say about a dozen people die from accidentally falling off the cliff each year. Although there are protective walls meant to keep people from getting too close to the edge, many climb over the walls to take pictures.
