Denver police are searching for a man who slit the throat of a customer in a restaurant Tuesday afternoon in what appears to have been a random attack. The incident happened at the Mead St. Station Bar and Grill in the city’s West Highlands neighborhood. Restaurant owner Paul Burke said one of the regulars was sitting at the bar when another man walked in and approached him from behind. A bartender who witnessed it said “he honestly thought he was hugging the other customer, and turns out, he had a knife in his hand and cut his throat,” Burke told local media. The victim survived but suffered serious injuries. The suspect has been spotted in neighborhood bars and restaurants before, Burke said. Police have released the his description and are reviewing surveillance footage of the incident.
