The weeklong Oklahoma manhunt for a 38-year-old man who allegedly killed two relatives ended late Sunday night after a shootout with police. Michael Dale Vance, Jr. was found dead after he reportedly led police on a chase and was shot by a state trooper in the tiny, western Oklahoma town of Leedey. The highly publicized race to find Vance—who live-streamed some his crimes on Facebook—involved the shooting of at least two police officers and multiple carjackings. Vance was wanted on a slew of charges, including two counts of first-degree murder. He shot and injured a Dewey County officer earlier Sunday before fleeing in another car, said Dave Turk, a spokesman for the U.S. Marshals Service. In the final hours of the manhunt, Vance is said to have been pursued for about 30 minutes by the state trooper who ultimately killed him. “There was an exchange of gunfire between the state trooper and the subject, and the subject was killed,” Turk said.
