According to a report on Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly’s new book, Settle for More, President-elect Donald Trump attempted to curry favor with her prior to the launch of his presidential campaign. He allegedly sent her notes, including an “attagirl” on a picture of her on the cover of The New York Times Magazine. Kelly reportedly later declined a visit to Trump’s Florida estate Mar-a-Lago, and Trump would later try to pay for the tab when she and a few friends spent the weekend at the Trump SoHo hotel. “This is actually one of the untold stories of the 2016 campaign,” Kelly writes. “I was not the only journalist to whom Trump offered gifts clearly meant to shape coverage. Many reporters have told me that Trump worked hard to offer them something fabulous—from hotel rooms to rides on his 757.”
