A school in Massachusetts has asked police to investigate after swastikas and racist words were found on a rock outside the school. Parents of students at the Bromfield School, located about 30 miles from Boston in the town of Harvard, were notified on Friday of the discovery. Harvard Public Schools Superintendent Linda Dwight said the graffiti included swastikas, homophobic symbols and racist slurs. One of the swastikas was used to cover a Jewish Star of David. The Bromfield School is the second school in the area in a week to be vandalized with such graffiti. Last week, a shuttered school in Billerica was also vandalized with a swastika. The vandalism comes amid concerns over a rise in racist hate crimes after the recent presidential election, with watchdogs reporting hundreds of racist, anti-Semitic, homophobic and Islamophobic incidents in recent weeks.
