Justin Ross Harris, the man convicted three weeks ago in the hot-car death of his 22-month-old son, was sentenced Monday to life in prison without parole. “This is basically the most aggravated killing of another individual, especially a young child… that there’s only one sentence that reflects the evil nature of what he did,” lead prosecutor Chuck Boring said in requesting the maximum sentence. Ross, now 36, left Cooper strapped into a car seat in the back of his SUV for seven hours, resulting in the child’s death. Harris was supposed to take the boy to day care but instead drove straight to work and left the child in his backseat for the duration of the work day.
