Trump Tower was briefly evacuated Tuesday as bomb-squad technicians examined a stray backpack that they soon discovered was filled toys. President-elect Donald Trump was not in the building at the time. Stephen Davis, spokesman for the New York Police Department, said the “all clear” was given around 5 p.m. after the backpack was examined. Videos on social media showed people fleeing the building as an evacuation was ordered. By law, the lobby of the building is open to the public from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.
