President Donald Trump’s former campaign manager Corey Lewandowski was reportedly blocked from entering the inauguration platform on Friday when he presented Capitol Police with the wrong passes. According to Roll Call, the firebrand confidant of Trump’s was in the Capitol Crypt hallway just moments before former President Barack Obama and Trump made their way out the hallway and down a set of stairs to the inaugural ceremony. “Please have somebody bring me that ticket,” Lewandowski pleaded during a phone coversation video-taped by a reporter. “I just can’t get past. I’m literally standing at the—I can see, like, the members of what is probably the cabinet. I can see the people walking onto, like, in the camera shot.” Additionally, he can be heard saying, “I’m standing right outside the Rotunda on the Senate side, I can see the procession.” When Capitol Police asked him to identify himself, Lewandowski replied, “I’m Mr. Trump’s campaign manager” (he served from January 2015 to June 2016, when he was fired). Roll Call reported that Lewandowski then pulled out several badges, none of which gained him access to the platform.
