NBC will reportedly cancel the third hour of the Today show in order to make way for Megyn Kelly, The New York Post reported on Friday. Kelly, who starts in September, will reportedly have the 9:00 a.m. or 10:00 a.m. slot. If she takes over at latter slot, best-known as the show’s boozy fourth hour, hosts Hoda Kotb and Kathie Lee Gifford show will be moved to 9:00 a.m. slot—effectively bumping hosts Tamron Hall and Al Roker no matter which hour Kelly takes. In addition, the newspaper reported that Hall will leave NBC when her contract is up. A source told the Post that staffers have been “left in the dark and no one knows why there’s such a disruption when shows are doing to well across the board.”
