Syrian President Bashar al-Assad claimed that some of the 4.8 million refugees who’ve fled amid the country’s civil war are “definitely” terrorists. Telling Yahoo News during a sit-down interview in his Damascus office, Assad said that President Trump’s executive order banning travel from seven Muslim-majority countries (including Syria) is “an American issue,” one which he’d prefer not to weigh in on. However, when asked whether Trump’s claim that terrorists cloak themselves among the refugees, Assad said, “Definitely,” adding that “You can find it on the net.” He reportedly added that while cannot estimate how many hidden terrorists there are, you “don’t need a significant number to commit atrocities.”
