The Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) has reportedly identified roughly 1,200 Marines as members of the Marines United Facebook group, the digital ground-zero of Marines reportedly sharing nude photos of female troops and vets—some allegedly without their consent. According to the Marine Corps Times, Democratic Rep. Jackie Speier announced at a Thursday press conference that NCIS investigators have found 700 active-duty Marines and 150 Marines in the Reserve among the Facebook group’s membership. “About 500 of Marines United’s roughly 30,000 members are believed to have viewed the nude photographs, Marine Corps Commandant Gen. Robert Neller told senators on Tuesday,” the site additionally reported.
