Two Secret Service officers have been fired over a March 10 incident in which a man managed to jump over the White House fence and wander around the grounds for more than 15 minutes. The officers have been identified only as Uniformed Division officers with less than a year on the job, CNN reported late Thursday, citing unnamed law-enforcement sources. They were assigned to posts at the Treasury Building and an entrance at East Executive Avenue. While President Trump praised the Secret Service after the incident, saying they’d done a “fantastic job” getting the alleged intruder off White House grounds, many questioned how officers could have failed to spot the intruder sooner. An agency review of the incident is still in progress. “The Secret Service continues to take appropriate actions based upon findings of the mission assurance review. We do not comment on personnel actions. However, all Secret Service personnel are held to the highest standards of professional and ethical conduct,” communications director Cathy Milhoan said in a statement Thursday.
