Aaron Hernandez, who was acquitted just days ago of murdering two strangers, reportedly committed suicide in a Massachusetts prison early Wednesday morning. The former New England Patriot player was found hanging in his cell at about 3 a.m. at the Souza Baranowski Correctional Center in Shirley, according to local reports. His family has been notified. “Mr. Hernandez was in a single cell in a general population unit,” said the statement. “Mr. Hernandez hanged himself utilizing a bedsheet that he attached to his cell window. Mr. Hernandez also attempted to block his door from the inside by jamming the door with various items.” Hernandez was serving a life without parole sentence for murdering Odin L. Lloyd in 2013.
