At least 352 civilians have died as part of the U.S.-led air fight against ISIS in the Middle East, the Pentagon said Sunday. The operations began in 2014 when ISIS first gained a foothold in parts of Iraq and Syria. Other monitoring groups, such as Airwars, have put the total around 3,000 civilians killed as a result of coalition airstrikes. “We regret the unintentional loss of civilian lives ... and express our deepest sympathies to the families and others affected by these strikes,” a statement reads.
