Zookeepers have long spritzed perfume on rocks to keep caged animals from getting too bored in their pens, but one zookeeper has discovered that cheetahs absolutely love Calvin Klein’s Obsession for Men. Monitoring the interest of two big cats, the Bronx Zoo’s general curator tested 24 scents and found that the cheetahs would sniff Estée Lauder's Beautiful for two seconds, Revlon's Charlie for 15.5 seconds, but Obsession for Men for an impressive 11.1 minutes. The findings spread through the conservation world, and now the musky scent is used in zoos and in the field. Obsession for Men was used to lure jaguars in Guatemala, making study of the elusive cat a bit easier. The scent’s attraction for big cats could be its use of a sexy synthetic musk based on the civit, a kind of cat.
