China is sending 232 army medical workers to West Africa, state media reported on Tuesday. As more foreign nations intensify efforts in the fight against Ebola, China will dispatch 154 workers to Liberia and 78 to Sierra Leone on Tuesday, China Daily newspaper reports. "Fighting Ebola is not a regional battle, but should be supported globally," National Health and Family Planning Ministry director Cui Li was quoted as saying. The relief teams will support 43 army doctors and 35 specialists from the Chinese Center for Disease Control who are already working in Sierra Leone. China has not reported any Ebola cases but has given $121 million in aid and supplies to help the Ebola-hit West African nations. Chinese workers have already treated 61 patients and trained 1,600 local medical workers in Sierra Leone.
