Watch out world: China is coming for your galactic secrets. A Chinese hacking unit likely working for a unit of the People's Liberation Army was targeting government agencies and companies working in the space and satellite industries in Europe, America, and Japan, according to a report from security company CrowdStrike. The hacking unit, called Unite 61486 but dubbed Putter Panda, has been operational since 2007 and hacks mainly via disguised email malware. The Justice Department recently indicted five members of China's military on hacking charges. “If you look at all the groups that we track in China, the indictments are just the very tip of the iceberg,” says CrowdStrike co-founder George Kurtz.
