"Chuck Norris doesn't write books. The words assemble themselves out of fear," reads one fact from the popular chucknorrisfacts.com. That will soon be put to the test: Chuck Norris, former star of Walker Texas Ranger, has signed a 6-figure book deal with Illinois publisher Tyndale House. The book will be written in collaboration with Todd Dubar, the pastor who co-wrote Norris' last endeavor, Black Belt Patriotism, and will feature 101 humorous autobiographical facts that will serve as platforms to commentaries on Norris' movie career and life lessons. In December 2007, at the height of the cult-like following of Chuck Norris jokes, the man himself filed a lawsuit against Gotham Books, which published a collection of the jokes based off of the website (the invention of a young Ian Spector), alleging that "some of the 'facts' in the book are racist, lewd or portray Mr. Norris as engaged in illegal activities." The suit was dropped a year later, and in May the deal for Norris' "authorized take" on the jokes was inked. Mr. Shrinker, the Gotham publisher, recalls his reaction to the news: ""When I heard about it I just laughed," he said. "I just thought it was a big joke!" The book will be published in October.
