Colorado Republican Rep. Gordon Klingenschmitt was removed from one of his two committee posts Monday following controversial remarks he made about a pregnant woman whose fetus was cut from her womb in an attack. Klingenschmitt was pulled from his assignment on the Health, Insurance and Environment Committee for saying that the attack on a Colorado pregnant woman was result of "the curse of God" for abortion on his daily video program called "Pray in Jesus Name." Klingenschmitt, a former Navy chaplain, apologized but protested his removal, and announced plans to suspend his television preaching ministry for six weeks.
