A Texas high-school assistant football coach was placed on leave Tuesday after an incident Friday where two players tackled a referee during a game. Assistant coach Mack Breed was placed on leave after he told the two players involved in the incident: "That guy needs to pay for cheating us," according to Northside Independent School District officials. The players, who have been suspended from both the team and school, say that the referee used racial slurs towards them throughout the game. Police are investigating the players and prosecutors said they are open to pressing charges depending on the outcome of an investigation.
