The Department of Commerce has removed gender and sexual orientation from its list of categories protected under its equal employment policy, BuzzFeed reports. "The Department of Commerce does not tolerate behavior, harassment, discrimination or prejudice based on race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, or disability," the department's latest non-discrimination statement reads. The 2016 statement explicitly prohibited discrimination on the basis of sex, gender identity, or sexual orientation.
