There may be a new pill to help fight alcoholism on the market as a European drug-maker is testing a medicine design to curb the desire for a person to have more than one drink in a sitting. The pill from the Danish company Lundbeck could be available in Europe by 2012 if trials prove successful, becoming the first new alcoholism treatment there in 15 years. Most treatments in existence today are intended to help alcoholics abstain from drinking entirely. A less-strict approach could appeal to alcohol abusers who aren't interested in going cold turkey.
