Congress pushed through a stopgap spending bill late Wednesday to fund the government through Dec. 11 and avert a shutdown at midnight. President Obama was expected to sign the bill into law before the looming deadline. The House passed the measure, which does not include a controversial provision to strip Planned Parenthood of its funding, by 277-151 after the Senate approved it by a 78-20 vote earlier in the day. Lawmakers have about 10 weeks to negotiate a longer-term budget solution to prevent another potential shutdown in December.
