For the first time in 98 years, Converse’s iconic Chuck Taylor All-Stars sneakers are being redesigned. The exterior will stay almost identical, but the interiors of the updated “Chuck II” will Lunarlon, a lightweight and pliable foam that Nike currently uses for its running and basketball shoes. Nike purchased the sneaker company when it went bankrupt in 2003. Other modifications include a non-slip tongue and perforated suede liner. The new edition will sell for $15 more than the originals.
