Roy Oliver, the police officer who allegedly shot and killed 15-year-old Jordan Edwards in Texas over the weekend, was charged with murder on Friday. Oliver, 37, will soon be arrested after a judge approved an arrest warrant late Friday. Oliver was fired from the Balch Spring police force earlier this week after he was found to have changed his story about what happened that led to the shooting. Edwards, an African-American and a high school freshman, was allegedly inside a car filled with other teenagers that was fleeing. Police initially said the car was going in reverse toward the officers. In a statement Friday, the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office said Oliver “intended to cause serious bodily injury and commit and act clearly dangerous to human life that caused the death.”
