Boston police said on Sunday they arrested two armed men who made "threats of violence" on social media to people attending the Pokemon World Championship. Kevin Norton, 18, and James Stumbo, 27, were both arrested and charged with unlawful possession of a firearm and other firearm charges on Friday. The two reportedly made threats on social media, which led security officers at the Hynes Convention Center, where the even was being held, to contact the Boston Regional Intelligence Center (CENTER). The pair, who drove from Iowa, were stopped from entering the event when authorities found several firearms in their car including a shotgun, a rifle, several hundred rounds of ammunition and a hunting knife. City officials praised the Boston Police Department for a "great job in the stop and prevention of a potential tragedy."
