A 5-year-old boy was crushed to death when his head got stuck against a wall at Atlanta’s rotating Sun Dial restaurant. He was identified by police and his family as Charlie Holt, reports the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. The boy was visiting the restaurant from Charlotte, North Carolina. Shortly after 3 p.m. Friday, he wandered away from the table and his head somehow became caught between a wall and a table while the dining area was rotating. Gustavo Anzola, who witnessed the incident, told the Journal-Constitution on Saturday that as many as six adults were trying to free the boy at one point, while the boy cried. Then, he lost consciousness. “A few seconds later, he fell into his dad’s arms,” Anzola said. “The Westin’s security staff and employees were able to dislodge the child,” said Atlanta Police Officer S.R. Brown. “However, the child sustained critical injuries and later died at the hospital.” The restaurant has been closed until further notice, said a spokesperson. “The family asks for prayers and privacy right now to come to terms with this tragedy,” said a statement from the boy’s family. “No words can express their loss. If you have a loved one, please give them an extra hug today.”
