Rafael Nadal cruised to the quarterfinals of the U.S. Open on Sunday but gave onlookers a scare at the press conference afterward. Midway through the conference, Nadal slouched in his chair and called for medical assistance. As help arrived, he slid onto the floor with tears in his eyes as press was cleared from the room. It was, apparently, a leg cramp, and after receiving assistance Nadal resumed the press conference standing up. Meanwhile, American men are having their best showing at the tournament in years: Andy Roddick, John Isner, Donald Young, and Mardy Fish are the first quartet of Americans to make the U.S. Open quarterfinals since 2003, when Roddick won the tournament.
