Federal investigators have arrived on the scene of the first deadly domestic plane crash since 2006. Flames that resulted from the crash of Continental Airlines Flight 3407 into a home near Buffalo, NY were so strong that it has been difficult to locate the flight data and voice recorders. The death toll now stands at 50, including 44 passengers, 5 crew, and one person in the house. Two others at home were injured. The National Transportation Safety Board has dispatched 14 investigators to determine the cause of the incident. Flight 3407 was en route to Buffalo from Newark, NJ. Tragically, one passenger, Beverly Eckert, was a 9/11 widow on her way to honor what would have been her husband's 58th birthday.
