The Tea Party is getting wild: Florida Governor Charlie Crist trails former State House Speaker Marco Rubio 47 to 44 in the Republican primary race for Florida’s open Senate seat, according to Quinnipiac University. In October, Crist led Rubio by 15 points. Many conservative groups are backing Rubio, who tacks further right than Crist on most issues. Asked about the poll, Crist said "These are tough times, and for any leader it's challenging to lead in difficult times but we're going to keep doing it and keep fighting for the people and stay focused on that task. And whatever it takes to try and turn around this economy, that's what we're going to be focused on.”
