Four people have died in a listeria outbreak traced to cantaloupes from Colorado. Thirty-five people have been sickened in 10 states, and two more may have died from the outbreak: The Centers for Disease Control is currently investigating their deaths. The bad melons have been traced to Jensen Farms in Holly, Colorado, which recalled the cantaloupes last week after learning of the deaths. It had shipped the fruits to states ranging from New Mexico to New York. The number of ill people could grow because listeria can incubate for a month. It generally sickens older people—the median age in the recent deaths is 81.
