Chad Taylor, the Democratic nominee for the U.S. Senate in Kansas, has withdrawn his candidacy. Wednesday was the last day for candidates to request their names be taken off of the ballot. Taylor’s last-minute withdrawal may now force a tough reelection campaign for Sen. Pat Roberts. Independent George Orman may give the Republican a run for his money now that he won’t have to split the anti-incumbent vote with Taylor. If the Democrats don’t offer up another candidate to replace Taylor, Roberts, who already battled through a tough primary, may not make it through the general election for senator.
