India’s government came under fire on Friday after tweeting an allegedly doctored image of Prime Minister Narendra Modi looking out of a helicopter window at the flooded souther city of Chennai. Modi tweeted on Thursday that he was "pained by the devastation" of the deadly flooding that’s swept the state of Tamil Nadu and killed at least 269 people. Modi included an image of himself looking out a window surveying the area. The window view was barely visible, but the government’s press department later tweeted what appeared to be the same image, except with a clear aerial image of flooding below. The alleged photoshopped image, which the department later deleted, sparked public furor and prompted Twitter users to create their own spin on Modi's view.
