A federal judge approved a landmark $60 million settlement to college athletes Friday in a class-action lawsuit against the NCAA and video-game maker Electronic Arts, marking the first time student athletes will be paid for the use of their names, images or likenesses. Steve Berman, an attorney for the plaintiffs, called the ruling "a huge victory in the ongoing fight for students-athletes' rights." More than 20,000 claims against the NCAA have been filed so far. The NCAA has appealed the ruling.
