A magnitude 6.8 earthquake struck at about 1:30 a.m. on Sunday in southern Alaska. There were no immediate reports of injuries but some 4,800 people are without power. The epicenter of the earthquake was about 53 miles west of Anchor Point and 160 miles southwest of Anchorage, where residents say their houses shook. The National Weather Service says that a tsunami is not expected as a result.
