The airport in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt has a series of security gaps including a bag scanning device that frequently does not work, according to security officials there. The unrealiable scanner was mentioned in security reports but never replaced. Some policemen monitoring X-ray machines also reportedly take bribes to let in drugs and weapons. A spokesman for Egypt's Aviation Ministry balked at these allegations saying the airport is one of the safest in the world.
